Connect with Global Expats & Locals
Ask questions, share experiences, and connect with people in Korea.
Hey everyone!
I’m moving to Seoul next month for work and will be based here for about a year. I’m super excited to settle in, and from everything I’ve researched, the Seongsu-dong / Seoul Forest area seems like one of the most vibrant and exciting neighborhoods to explore.
Since I’ll be spending a lot of time around Seongsu, I’d love to connect with people living nearby and get some local insights:
-
Hidden Gems & Spots: What are your favorite low-key cafes, great bakeries, casual dinner spots, or quiet work-friendly places in the neighborhood? (I already know the big warehouse cafes like Daelim Changgo and Onion, so I’d love recommendations for smaller neighborhood favorites!)
-
Daily Life Tips: Any must-know neighborhood tips for someone staying medium-to-long term around Seongdong-gu? (e.g., best running routes near Seoul Forest / Hangang, local markets, or quiet weekend routines)
-
Meeting Up & Making Friends: If you’re living around Seongsu, Ttukseom, or anywhere in eastern/central Seoul and are up for grabbing a coffee, exploring food spots, checking out weekend pop-ups, or doing a language exchange, I’d love to meet up!
I’m really looking forward to experiencing the city beyond just the usual tourist routine and making meaningful connections during my time here.
Feel free to drop your favorite recommendations below or send me a DM if you're down to hang out. Thanks in advance!
